Elegance and Splendour of Art Deco. Kyoto Costume Institute, Jewelry Houses Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels
The Moscow Kremlin Museums
Pieces on loan from the Cartier Collection
This season, the Moscow Kremlin Museums are honoring Art Deco, a pivotal period in the history of decorative arts and fashion in the 20th century. Alongside various remarkable pieces from major fashion houses, loaned by the prestigious Kyoto Costume Institute, thirty-four creations from the Cartier Collection and twenty-one archival documents will also be displayed. Selected by the exhibition’s curators, these items are a testament to the new formal styling of the 1920s, which Cartier had pre-empted since the beginning of the 20th century by producing amazingly original and pioneering designs.
