Care recommendations

To continue wearing your creations year after year, we recommend the following measures:

  • Regularly clean your glasses with slightly soapy water, rinse with clean water and wipe dry with the Cartier cleaning cloth or any other soft cloth (except for horn, wood and leather eyewear).
  • Always keep your glasses in their case when you are not wearing them.
  • Protect your creation from heat to preserve the frame and lenses.
  • Avoid contact between your eyewear and mercury or strong solvent-based products, such as acetone or cleaning fluids.

WOOD

Even though most of the wood styles are varnished, it is important to prevent any contact with water, greasy substances, make-up or any type of cleaning product that may penetrate the porous fibers, causing permanent warping or staining.

Wood does not require special care and will gradually develop a beautiful patina over the years.

HORN

Genuine horn is a material that requires special care.

Clean your horn creation with the specific cream given at the moment of purchase, on average two or three times a year, depending on the condition of wear. The cream is harmless to the metallic components and lenses of the frame.

It is also important to avoid any contact with water or detergents, exposure to very extreme and/or excessive temperatures, or cleaning with a degreasing product.

GOLD/PRECIOUS

For cleaning, use a damp cloth and neutral detergent and dry with a clean soft cloth. avoid the use of solvents (e.g. alcohol) and aggressive chemical cleaners.
